“just for a day”, he said. just for a day he would be mine. just for a day i could hold him, kiss him, sing into his ear and see his smile so close to me. just for a day, he said. because it would be complicated. because we couldn’t and we shouldn’t be together. because it was wrong, they said. but just for a day. just for a day he rested his head on my shoulders and we laughed at stupid things, our fingers intertwined and our lips met. he tasted like orange juice and i’ll never forget this, even though i just felt his kiss for a day. and then i prayed for tomorrow to never come, but it came. and now he’s gone.
